Shiv Sena vandalised Tanaji Sawant's Pune office on Saturday. Sena workers are seen destroying windows and shouting slogans against Sawant in a video obtained by ANI. Sawant is now camping with Eknath Shinde in Guwahati.
"Party member vandalised Tanaji Sawant's workplace. Traitors and dissident MLAs who bothered our leader Uddhav Thackeray will face this. Their office is next... No one will be spared, Shiv Sena's Pune city chief said.
Rebel Sena MLAs' offices have been targeted before. Sainiks vandalised Sena rebels' hoardings in Mumbai on Friday. Mangesh Kudalkar's hoarding was damaged at Kurla. Ink was smeared on Dilip Lande's poster.
The destruction at Sawant's office came after dissident MLA Eknath Shinde claimed in a letter that protection for legislators' families was withdrawn as'revenge' Maharashtra's home minister denied issuing the order. Maharashtra Police on alert after reports of Shiv Sainiks marching to the streets as Maha Vikas Aghadi administration battles with numbers after 38 MLAs camp in BJP-ruled Assam.
Shiv Sena has submitted 16 rebel MLAs to the Maharashtra Assembly deputy speaker for disqualification, a leader said. Sena MP Arvind Sawant said the party will also send notices to 16 dissident MLAs.
