Welcome to Day 5 of the AWS Builder Challenge!
Yesterday, we deployed your website globally using CloudFront + S3. 🎉
Today, we take a big step forward into the professional developer workflow:
Store your code in GitHub 🐙
Deploy automatically with AWS Amplify ⚡
Clean up the old manual setup 🧹
By the end of today, you’ll have a setup that updates your website every time you change your code, just like the pros. 💻

Step 1: Understand Git + GitHub 🤔
🔹 Git = tracks every change to your files (version control)
🔹 GitHub = cloud storage for your Git repositories + collaboration + portfolio
Why this matters:
No more manual uploads to S3
No more cache invalidations
A complete history of your project
Automatic deployments when connected to Amplify

Step 2: Create Your GitHub Account + Repository 🐙
Go to github.com → Sign up (choose a professional username).
Create a new repository:
Name: my-builder-challenge-website
Add README ✅
Upload your website files (index.html, style.css, profile photo).
Commit with a clear message: "Add initial website files".

Step 3: Deploy with AWS Amplify 🚀
Amplify = CloudFront + S3 done automatically.
In AWS Console → search Amplify → Deploy app.
Select GitHub → Authorize Amplify.
Choose your repo → select main branch.
Name app → accept defaults → Deploy.
Amplify sets up:
✅ Global CDN (CloudFront)
✅ Secure hosting (HTTPS by default)
✅ Automatic builds & updates

Step 4: Test Automatic Deployments 🔄
Edit index.html in GitHub → change a fun fact or emoji.
Commit → Amplify automatically detects the change.
Wait 1–2 min → refresh Amplify URL → 🎉 updated live!

Step 5: Clean Up Manual Setup 🧹
To avoid costs & confusion:
Disable + delete old CloudFront distribution
Empty or delete old S3 bucket
