Steven Dick, who is an editor of Tactical Knives Magazine (with a great set of credentials in both the military and as a professional outdoorsman) took a great deal of time and applied his years of experience to design a true multipurpose camp/outdoor knife.

In an article in Tactical Knives Magazine, the author wrote:

"The knife is ideal for what it is designed to be: an all-purpose back-country tool. Used the Pasayten to split kindling, prepare every dinner for 10 nights, cut bannock at lunch, cleaned fish and cut line, it found its way into many hands and was the knife of choice when a job was to be done. The Pasayten Light Traveler features 154 CM stainless steel with a tactical gray finish. The blade has a full flat grind with a moderately wide profile. The black linen Micarta scales are fastened with hollow brass pins and a lanyard tube. A Kydex sheath with rotating spring clip is included.
