Production of the Victorinox Swiss Army Knife | Victorinox

Описание к видео Production of the Victorinox Swiss Army Knife | Victorinox

The world of Victorinox dates all the way back to the year 1884. Right here, in the heart of
Switzerland, in Ibach-Schwyz where we have been based ever since. Join the digital tour through the world-famous Swiss Army Knife factory where all knives and tools are made of stainless steel.

The knife started back in 1884 in the small village of Ibach where it can still be found today. In 1891 Karl Elsener I establishes the Association of Swiss Master Cutlers. As a result, he is able to deliver the first major supply of soldier’s knives to the Swiss Army.

Innovation has always been the driving force behind our production techniques. The knife blades are stamped from a 3mm steel strip. 60 tons of stamping pressure, 14.000 blades per role, 20 hydraulic presses produce each individual blade.
Since the Victorinox product portfolio has developed greatly and today includes pocket knives, travel gear, cutlery, watches and perfume. Every single product is characterized by the functionality and spirit of innovation of the little red pocket knife.
