I’m dying my beard pink…again 🙂 This year, Cancer Awareness is very personal to me. Although October is primarily for Breast Cancer, it is really an opportunity to bring awareness to all the different battles cancer patients face. This is the 3rd year that I have dyed my beard pink for October Cancer Awareness.

But this year just hits harder. My mom was diagnosed with Large B Cell Lymphoma stage 4 on September 16th of last year. On November 18th she passed away.

Losing my mom is by far the hardest thing I have ever experienced. It tore my life apart in ways I never would have expected. I still cry and miss her dearly!
There is a program that my friend (and cancer survivor) Kristina Helbert was involved in as a child and has now continued to support as an adult. Now that I’ve walked my own personal journey with cancer, it’s a cause that I fully support. And hope you will, too.

Stephanie just lost her grandfather to cancer and she immediately volunteered her time to dye my beard this year. The owner of JMAX salon, Jim Maxwell volunteered his product and had all of his staff participate by wearing my pink shirts. I couldn’t ask for a better LOCAL business to support my efforts this year!
