Oppenheimer - Alone Now

VPR: Major flashes and quick cuts containing intense brightness shifts, majority after 1:10. Infrequent use of blur throughout.

I had the opportunity to see Oppenheimer in 70mm IMAX last summer and immediately thought of this video. I've been looking forward to it's completion and now I get to share it with all of you!

Like with every video, I tried out a couple new things, like slowing down the number of cuts I use (which is crazy since Oppenheimer has a bajillion cuts. It's an editor's nightmare source lol.) I also tried really hard to soften some of the transitions I used, like identifying places for match cuts and utilizing blurs.

For a long time, the only thing I had on the timeline was 2:02. At one point, I overlayed more scenes together, but ultimately didn't like it and removed them.

My favorite part of this video is 2:27 when I do the mask over Einstein walking in front of Oppenheimer and switching to a very similar scene, but more zoomed in. I think I sneak a mask into every one of my videos ;)
