Hey guys, welcome back to my channel, as we head to Africa taking "Yellow Fever Vaccine" is mandatory. Dhaval did some digging on internet & found that there are quite a few authorised places which gives Yellow Fever Vaccine & the closest one was near the international airport in Mumbai which is called "Airport Health Organization" (AHO).
We called up AHO & they informed us to email them & they will give us the detail on email itself. Well guess what? we never got an email, we waited for a day. We called them again, no one answered, we then reached out to Port Health Organization (PHO) at Ballard Estate, Mumbai.
They were nice enough to give us all the info on phone itself, told us that they are open 4 days a week Mon, Tue, Thurs, Fri for public and Wednesday only for Seafarers. We were informed that only 100 vaccines will be given per day & told us to stand in the que by 9.30 am an hour before they start giving vaccines.
They start by 10.30 am, we need to bring original passport.
Since we know how things are in India, we decided to reach the place one hour more prior then what was asked, we reached 8.20 am & guess what? There were so many people already, upon asking we were told to write down our names in a page & given number, ours was 88 & 89. Dhaval asked them who those people are, if they are from government or something but no they were just ordinary people probably agents who came here much before & standing on behalf of someone may be, because otherwise how would they know all these?
The vaccine is to be taken only once in lifetime! Anyway we were standing in the que since 8.20 am, most people were scattered, they had thier number & came back by 10am. We were surviving on fruits, not expecting this mess, at 10.45 a person from PHO came and handed a token to everyone in the que with their number, ours were 82 & 83, this proves that those people were fraud & had teamed up with everyone, now people at PHO knows all this but turn a blind eye for whatever reason.
I was the only girl present there amongst 100 of guys, obviously they were staring at me, clicking my photos without my consent, who do I fight with? How much? How many people? Anyway, it was a mess I would never forget, the procedure is mentioned in the vlog.
Luckily it didn't rain that day otherwise we would be super mad, there was no shade for the waiting que, we were standing on the footpath on the road, where the gutter stinked so bad, sitting on the road, never thought we would have to do this.
Hope this helps you out with what to expect & what not to expect, this was our experience, hope you all have a better one.
