This is the loading theme from Gradius II for the Sharp X68000 computer, with the Roland MT-32 sound output enabled.

This is my first time seeing what waveforms the MT-32 can output with its Linear Arithmetic synthesis, and it's surprising to actually see. It felt like there was some reverb effects too, but I can't see it clearly from the waveform itself.

If you look closely, I didn't include the MT-32 channels 1 and 9. The reason for that is by default, the MT-32 does not use channel 1 (although it can be set to use it for compatibility reasons) and also, Gradius II just doesn't use channel 9 at all for this track--probably because it's already got enough channels just from the YM2151 alone, I guess?

The combination of the OKI MSM6258 ADPCM sampler and the MT-32's drums create some really strong and exciting percussion, and the fact that the MT-32 can output superb orchestra hits means that the MSM6258 no longer has to do the job, helping it focus on creating those legendary-sounding drum track.

Just for fun, I also included spectrum graphs and RAM dump output in the video, since the software I used to create this displays that info already, so I figured, why not include that too.
