In this video I discuss methods for casting and explain the nature of plaster and hydrostone, also known as gypsum cement, and how it behaves inside the mold. I’m also sharing with you techniques to eliminate air bubbles and explain why air bubbles occur. It is my hope that this video aides you in creating your own successful castings.
Hydrostone is very hard once cured and is 25x stronger than plaster of Paris. I show how I used a surform, knives and dental tools to edit parting lines out of the finished product. I also cover some tips and techniques for reassembly or mending broken parts from my casting. FREE Education here all day.
