One Skincare Product That I'll Never Stop Using

If there’s one product I’m never letting go of and YOU SHOULDNT EITHER, it’s this! Share this video with someone you care about 🩵

1 ➡️ You already know this. About 80% of facial aging is attributed to sun exposure and sunscreen is the best known topical agent against factors that cause ageing. Loss of skin elasticity, skin roughness, dryness, irregular pigmentation and deep set wrinkles are some characteristics of photo damaged skin which sunscreen as a habit can minimise or atleast slow down.

2. ➡️ Idk much about how sunscreen protects our DNA but I did geek out on some studies which explain how our DNA absorbs both UVA and UVB rays which, if not mitigated, can be one of the causes of getting skin cancer. Filters in your spf can reduce these UV rays by either reflecting them or absorbing them before they’re absorbed by our DNA. Prevention is better than cure, as goes the adage.

3. ➡️Stemming from personal experience, so many of you told me this year that my melasma has either lightened or almost gone. Which is true because heat and sun aggravate melasma and I kid you not, nothing helps as much as wearing sunscreen does. For me spf usage helped a LOT with the reduction of my melasma and even PIE + PIH.

✅Photo damage is a process that goes on as long as you’re alive. You can’t avoid photo damage and you don’t have to avoid the sun, no. I mean I can’t live without it! I thrive in it, the lack of sunlight makes me glum! But I also ensure that I’m well protected during the peak hours of 10am - 5pm when UV radiation is said to be max.

So if you’re building a new habit in 2024, let it be … Sunscreen :)
