Fried Mozzarella Sandwich Skewers – How about a tasty appetizer made with mozzarella fried between layers of bread and topped with a savory lemon, caper and anchovy sauce?
This very tasty appetizer could also easily be turned into a vegetarian meal, perfect for the weekend. The Italian title says it’s “Roman,” but mozzarella and anchovies are a well known combination in Southern Italy as well. In this recipe the mozzarella is fried between layers of bread and then topped with a puckery lemon, capers and anchovy sauce. Delish!
