Rail side automatic lubrication systems are used by rail system owners and operators, on national train networks and public rail transit systems around the world.

Stationary or Wayside, lubrication systems from FLO Components for rail flanks and rail heads lower noise emission and considerably reduce wear on rails, switches and wheels, reducing maintenance costs and increasing the lifespan of the rail network. FLO’s high-pressure systems enable the usage of NLGI 2 class grease, which offers exceptional adhesion to the rail and wheel as well as better lubrication properties.

As a train passes the lube system located ahead of curves in the track, it activates the controller mechanism and grease is pumped to the rail gauge face or top-of-rail. Grease is picked up by the passing rail wheels and carried through the curve, and down the track, for several kilometers, coating the rail with a lubricating film.

The result is a considerable reduction in: rail and wheel flange wear; noise emissions; probabilities of wheel climb and low rail rollover derailments; and locomotive diesel fuel consumption, with corresponding reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.
