Peter Gabriel VS R.E.M. song war: Reaction to new songs on best-ofs!

Join me (JSB) as I pit two music heavyweights - Peter Gabriel and R.E.M. against each other in a battle of songs originally released on their respective 2003 best-ofs (Hit and In Time) - Burn You Up, Burn You Down for Mr Gabriel, and Bad Day for R.E.M. I'll give both a fresh re-listen and choose one as my favourite, but which way will I go (and which way will YOU go...comment below!).
