Specialty Pharmacy Roundtable: Piloting the Specialty Pharmacy Turnaround Time (Pharmacy) Measure

This September 19, 2024, PQA Quality Essentials Webinar focused on PQA’s Specialty Pharmacy Turnaround Time Implementation Pilot.

In 2017, in collaboration with NASP, PQA identified and prioritized specialty pharmacy measure concepts for development. A turnaround time measure concept continued through PQA’s multi-stakeholder, consensus-based development process, and the Specialty Pharmacy Turnaround Time [Pharmacy] (SP-TAT-PH) pharmacy quality measure was endorsed through a PQA membership vote in 2021. In 2022, with funding support from Pfizer, PQA launched the PQA Specialty Pharmacy Turnaround Time Implementation Pilot to advance standardized measurement of TAT.

During this Quality Essentials Webinar, PQA Director of Performance Measurement, Heather Gibson, MSPH, led a roundtable discussion on the Specialty Pharmacy Turnaround Time Implementation Pilot with:

They touched on topics related to participation in the pilot, implementing and calculating the PQA-endorsed SP-TAT-PH measure, and lessons learned from their organization that can help inform prescription turnaround time initiatives at other organizations.
