Friends - Chick Corea (Revisited Steve Gadd Drum Cover)

This is a song that I played often in my practice room during college to work on the jazz samba - the NYC 1970's version of a jazz samba made famous by Steve Gadd. This song and entire album is just a favorite of mine. I could never play it like Steve Gadd does ... note for note. So I choose to play it the way I remember trying to play it. Here is me playing this song ... you will definitely see the Steve Gadd influence in my phasing and groove, but this style of drumming became part of me from years of listening to Steve’s drumming.

Thank you Steve Gadd for the inspiration to keep on drumming and help me to not give up on my art!
