How to find affordable accommodations ⤵️

I’ve been living nomadically for 3+ years and finding accommodations was the part I was most intimidated by when starting this lifestyle. Turns out it’s cheaper than living in one place and there is ALWAYS something available.

When i’m in the US, I use an apartment subscription service. I hardly ever book more than 4+ weeks in advance. Here are some of the tips that help me find affordable housing:

➤ Use sites like Landing, Orca Pass, Furnished Finder to find affordable long term accommodations

➤ You can negotiate your Airbnb/Vrbo stays. I do this often and have saved $10k+ over the years. This works for short + long term stays but avoid peak season when doing this

➤ It may also be cheaper to book a stay for 1 week (vs 4-5 days) depending on the discount so be flexible with dates

➤ There are platforms like Guest to Guest, Live Kindred, and Trusted House Sitters that are changing the way we travel and offering stays in local homes

➤ Local FB groups are a great way to get in touch with property managers that have a rolodex of homes. I have a contact in Mexico and Bali that I can contact when i’m headed to the area and they will offer me a discounted rate
