My Year Building A CLC Northeaster Dory

This slideshow chronicles my year building Simmer Dim, a Northeaster Dory, from a kit by Chesapeake Light Craft. You will have to sit through a few selfies and other shots of my kids from my year but they go by quickly. It is meant to be "a-year-in-the-life" sort of thing. These building slides were culled from about 400 altogether so there are many aspects of the build that are not shown here, or are only shown in the sketchiest way. But I hope this gives some feel for the process and the end result. You will hear boatbuilders often say that the build is the best part of having a wooden boat and I would have to agree. Though I don't think I had a very good idea up front of just what was going to be involved. In part, this slideshow is meant to address that question for others. Mostly, it is just a record of this project for my family. Trying to figure out now what I will build next. David
