Should have reconfigured a better AC. This gameplay showcase will give you an idea of how the preset AC RECONFIG plays in Armored Core VI PvE, through a mixture of missions and Arena battles.

RECONFIG is the Armored Core of V.V Hawkins, member of the Vespers and leader of their fifth squad. Having gone through the relatively older augmentation surgery of Generation Seven, Hawkins' experience has seen him become more of a leader to his comrades than superiors such as Freud and Snail. A dependable pilot of the Vespers, and at peace with the losses incurred to ensure his surgery's success, Hawkins takes one day at a time, ensuring the men under his command survive to see tomorrow.

The preset AC RECONFIG shown in the video is unlocked by defeating 20/D V.V Hawkins in the Arena. -

Hawkins joins a list of Vespers that include such names as Freud, Snail, O'Keeffe and Pater who try their best to sabotage their own AC with some truly baffling decisions. While Snail and Pater can get away with it thanks to the integral strength of their ACs, Hawkins certainly can't; like O'Keeffe, Hawkins has decided that the best possible FCS for his mech is, ironically, the worst possible choice. I've said before that the VE-21A is arguably the worst FCS in the game, and that view hasn't changed, and it makes even less sense on an AC with a melee weapon. For your laser cannon and plasma rifle shots to hit anything, you'll have to stay far away from your opponent - thus rendering the laser blade worthless.

Luckily, with two energy firearms and a tetrapod build, the VE-20C generator is the perfect match for the RECONFIG - so it's a shame that Hawkins has installed the VP-20D instead, severely limiting both his damage potential and airborne time. An underwhelming 11k AP pool on a near 100K weight frame leaves a lot to be desired as well; if it wasn't for Pulse Armor and the underrated Buerzel boosters, the RECONFIG would be a sitting duck, in much the same way the somewhat similar ASTER CROWN is.

But still, if you can land your shots then you can do good damage, as the RECONFIG's arsenal is not bad at all - but the six-cell plasma missile launchers are doing a lot of the lifting here, due to just how bad the FCS is. I don't recommend the RECONFIG, as it can't deal with mobile enemies at all other than by going crazy with the laser blade. However, with the right FCS and generator, I can actually see the RECONFIG becoming somewhat of a terror (similar to V.VI's INFECTION) but until that day comes, another disappointing tetrapod AC this remains.

| This is by no means a "guide" to show you how to play the AC; I'm sure there are far better players than me who can do more with these mechs. I just want to show off some cool mechs in the style of @bansheent-d Armored Core For Answer videos.

(NOTE: In order to see a preset AC in the Assembly or Paint tabs of the garage: make sure to first enter the Paint tab, saying "Yes" to removing the edit lock. Then back out of the Paint tab, making sure to "Discard" changes and not save. Now, re-enter the Paint tab and you can see the exact colours of the preset AC! (however, decals will not transfer over.))
