Multidisciplinary team (MDT) discussion for interstitial lung diseases (ILD)

What is the multidisciplinary team (MDT) discussion for interstitial lung diseases (ILDs)? aka MDD? This is a discussion of ILD cases by the healthcare team, including the pulmonologist, expert radiologist and other members of the team (e.g. rheumatologist, pathologist, specialist nurses and pharmacists, other clinicians). The outcome of the discussion is usually a consensus diagnosis of the ILD, evaluation of the disease behaviour (risk of worsening/progression), recommendations for further investigations, tests or follow-up.
In many countries, the MDT is required to prescribe certain medications (i.e. antifibrotics).
