First responders face added stressors that can contribute to low testosterone. Unpredictable shift work, daily stress, and trauma may all contribute to low T, and I frequently see this dynamic in first responders. In today’s video, Matthew Moceri joins me to discuss his own experience with good total T numbers but low free T, and his journey to finding treatment despite doctors who felt he was too young or not low enough for treatment despite his symptoms. We also discuss what can be done for first responders in general, and why there’s no one size fits all approach.
