In this #Shorts video, DIYNate shares a quick solution for chewed up, worn out, and frayed shoelace ends, by applying electrical tape and heat to make a protective tip. He takes a pair of his Merrell hiking shoes that are also great work boots and repairs the shoelace tips by applying electrical tape to the frayed ends (typically where the "aglet" would be - great vocabulary word). He then uses a heat gun and a nail to seal the tips to give the ends a cleaner look and also protection from water, etc. This fix makes shoelaces look a bit better as well vs. frayed ends and is a better solution than just cutting the ends off, only to have the shoelaces unwind again.

Note: Be careful using a heat gun and cautious when melting plastic / electrical tape for safety / health reasons.
