Who can you trust in a world of spin and shifting norms? 2 John points us to the truth that does not move. John writes to a beloved church facing persuasive voices and reminds them that truth lives in us because of the Spirit, and that truth will be with us forever. Right belief leads to right action, and when we receive the true story of the Gospel, we are set free to walk in love and obedience.
This message contrasts three common paths to confusion. Nihilism says there is no truth and produces despair. Expressive individualism says my truth comes from my feelings and leads to isolation and exhaustion. Cultural relativism says truth comes from the crowd and leaves us with ambiguity and compromise. John shows a better way. Truth is not found in your feelings or your feed. Truth is found in the Father and revealed in Jesus.
