Hiking Castle Crag in the Borrowdale Valley - Easy Lake District Walk

Описание к видео Hiking Castle Crag in the Borrowdale Valley - Easy Lake District Walk

Castle Crag is the smallest Wainwright found in the Lake District National Park standing at just 985'. It may be small, but it sure is mighty. A short drive from Keswick, Lake District, we headed to the Borrowdale Valley, parked at Rosthwaite National Trust 's car park to head off on what is argued to be the easiest of the Wainwright Walks. From the top it afforded stunning views over Derwent Water looking to the north, a slightly hairy return immediately after coming off the peak and swinging back to Rosthwaite via an amble along the River Derwent and crossing it using quaint stepping stones. It was a stunning yet very easy Lake District walk that I'd recommend to all abilities from families with younger children to more serious walkers who may be looking for a route to do on an easy, or 'rest day' after some more strenuous hikes.
