Riding 75km In Dubai's Al Qudra Cycling Track: Battling Strong Winds!

Cycling in the desert at the Dubai's Al Qudra Cycling Track is a dedicated cycling track and is one of the longest in the world stretching around 161km or 100 miles as per my estimate if you consider the other cycling routes it links onto – traffic free.

Weather was a perfect 25C instead of the usual 35C at this time of the year, however there was a terrible head and side wind.

I booked 2 road bikes online from Trek Bicycle Store Al-Qudra https://www.trekbikes.ae/rentals and they are located right next to the cycling track https://goo.gl/maps/nSx15nUSzYvbyUqE9
 
The key issue with the bike was changing to higher gears due to the wear and tear of the shifter rubber mounting, which meant I had to keep stopping and messing around with it to get it working.
 
The lesson learnt for next time don’t hire a bicycle if possible and bring my own, it's less headache and I will enjoy my ride much more as I am comfortable on my own bike setup.
 
Despite this I still enjoyed the ride with exception of the head and side winds!!!
