My dad, Dr. Charles Pruitt, III, has been caring for the people of Magee, Mississippi—his hometown—for more than fifty years. He’s delivered their babies, bandaged their wounds, listened to their stories, and held their hands in their final moments. And for all of my life, I’ve watched him do it with reverence, kindness, and a quiet wisdom that’s hard to put into words.

A couple of years ago, he and his patients agreed to let me join them in the exam room. What my amateur cameras captured were the movements of a man who has made healing an everyday practice, for more than just the body. A man who’s truly built a legacy, one patient, one kindness, one sacred moment at a time.

This documentary is my 80th birthday gift to him. But really, it’s a love letter—to a small-town doctor doing what he was born to do, to the town that raised us, and to the kind of care the world needs more of.
