Athoor Dam Tourist Spot.

Athoor Dam is a small dam located in the Dindigul district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is situated near the village of Athoor, which is about 30 kilometers from Dindigul town. The dam is built across the Varaganathi River, which is a tributary of the Kaveri River.

The primary purpose of the Athoor Dam is to provide water for irrigation in the surrounding agricultural areas. The dam has a storage capacity of about 7.5 million cubic meters and a catchment area of around 62 square kilometers. The water from the dam is used to irrigate crops such as paddy, sugarcane, and coconut.

The Athoor Dam also serves as a popular tourist destination in the Dindigul district. The scenic location of the dam, surrounded by lush green forests and hills, attracts visitors who come to enjoy the natural beauty and take part in outdoor activities such as fishing, boating, and trekking

PULLAVELKI FALLS:

From Dindigul, after 38 km of travel, we arrive at this waterfall. This place is quite dangerous as many people have died here before. However, it is also a very enjoyable spot. There is a small bridge and a temple nearby

ATHOOR DAM FALLS;
The Athoor dam's waterfall is located 22 kilometers away from Dindigul. I can inform you about the nearby selling points for this waterfall. Once you reach the entry point for this waterfall, you will have to trek for 45 minutes to reach it. There are no shops or eateries along the way, so you will need to bring snacks and drinks with you. It is a great place to enjoy with friends, and the best time to visit is from October to January when the waterfall is at its best.
