Author, professor, and historian Michelle Duster is the winner of the 2022 Ripple Effect Award. Duster is the great-granddaughter of journalist, anti-lynching activist, and researcher Ida B. Wells. This is a recording of her acceptance speech, as well as an introduction by past Studs Terkel Award winner Deborah Douglas. This video was originally aired as part of the 27th Annual Community Media Awards, presented by Public Narrative since 1994.
