This video is week 1 in my efforts to regain my health and fitness by drastically changing my exercise routine and my diet, in order to feel better about myself and live a longer and healthier life for my wife and my children.


I was an athlete for most of my life, growing up I played little league baseball and soccer, in high school I played football, wrestled, and did track and field (mostly field, I'm dreadfully slow).


As an adult I studied kenpo karate, brazilian jiu jitsu, and I picked up running to ensure maximum fitness during my time in the military, but the stresses of life, combined with a knee injury and poor time management and differing priorities caused me to gain 40 pounds over the period of about four years, and I've decided that it's time for me to take that weight off.


Every week I will post new videos showing my routine, some of the food for my diet, talk openly about the highs and the lows of what I'm going through, openly admit when I skip a day due to a set back or if I drink too many beers and it zaps my motivation.



I'm making these videos to hold myself accountable, and I hope that people will see that a guy in his 40s can get off the couch and make a change and they will take action themselves because it's never too late.
