After her daughter Emilia Clarke experienced multiple ruptured brain aneurysms the family discovered that there wasn't enough being done to support survivors leaving the hospital. In response, they founded SameYou.org in 2019 to provide young adults with access to rehabilitation, recovery, and support services after noticing a lack of resources and support available for this population.

SameYou.org has partnered with several organizations and initiatives to advance research and improve care for brain injury survivors, including the Stroke Association and the National Health Service in the UK
