𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁:
Glaucoma is a problem with pressure inside the eye. If that pressure gets too high it pushes on that nerve and causes damage. One common cause of that is what we call narrow angles. So just like a basketball there is a certain amount of pressure inside the eye except the basketball is filled with air, inside of the eye is filled with fluid.

There's part of the eye that makes that fluid that flows around that lens that becomes that cataract, flows up into the front part of the eye and drains out in the angle and that drainage portion and the part that makes it flow and the balance between those two is what controls the pressure in the eye. If that angle gets narrow or closes down, it can't drain that fluid off as well and that can cause that pressure to go up, it pushes on that nerve in the back of the eye and causes damage or what we call glaucoma.

That's why if we ever have a narrow angle it's very important to let me take a peek at it because there's things we can do to help you protect your eye from that damage or that pressure long term.
