Описание к видео USTA 4.5 vs 4.0 Men's singles tennis highlights [How to learn from a loss]

I was going to record myself saying this, but I figured it would be easier to just type it out. In this set of tennis (and this practice session in general) Jonathon (NTRP 4.5) played some great tennis. He did not miss any of the easy balls and he came up clutch on every game that went to deuce. That being said I still wanted to upload this video even though it showcases a bad loss. My energy on this day was low, the net was high, I wasn't hitting through the ball, blah blah blah blah blah. I can come up with 10000 excuses and I'm sure anyone else in my situation could as well, but that's not what's important. What is important is learning from a loss like this. I've seen plenty of junior and adult players that get frustrated after losing a set like this (even though it's just a practice match). Practice matches are trivial. The point of practice is to improve and I certainly learn more from ugly losses than from easy wins. When I was reviewing the video I saw several different things that I need to work on, and a loss like this helps me isolate what needs to improve. All of that to say I hope anyone watching this understand that progress isn't always a straight line, but as long as it's trending upward you're doing good.

Please subscribe to follow my journey from NTRP 4.0 to NTRP 5.0! I upload new videos every week! I am also playing in two tournaments during the month of September, more information on that coming in future videos!
