Surviving on Mars: Exploring Production Facilities & First Harvest | Mars Series Ep. 1

We’re taking our first steps in farming on Mars! In this episode, we explore the Mars map and its unique production facilities, learning alongside our viewers. Starting with a map tour, we locate each facility and see how they’re set up. After checking out Mars-specific equipment, I sell unused vehicles and tractors to buy replacements better suited to the harsh Martian landscape. Since renting equipment on Mars doesn’t make much sense in the long run, I’ve decided not to use rentals in this series.

Next, we jump into the first harvest! We transport straw to the power plant and cow barn, deliver canola to the diesel production plant, oats to the grain mill for flour (and eventually bread), and wheat to feed our chickens. The core of our production chain relies on stones, so I began this episode with Precision Farming deactivated to till fields and gather stones. However, finding this method inefficient, I discovered a hidden stone deposit on a high plateau on the map. After confirming that I can load these stones with a front loader at the loading facility, I wrap up the episode.
