Egg Tempera Technique! - "Woodland Ghost"- Painting by Julio Reyes

Описание к видео Egg Tempera Technique! - "Woodland Ghost"- Painting by Julio Reyes

This painting was done for the "Animalia" Exhibition, curated by Beautiful Bizarre Magazine - Exhibited at Haven Gallery, NY - Oct.-Nov. 2021.

"Woodland Ghost" - (17x18 inches) was created using countless layers of traditional egg tempera (no oil) and depicts a small gray fox nestled in the dense green undergrowth along the greenbelts in the Sonoma Coastal area of California. My wife, Candice and I surprised a young silver fox on one of our hikes, and watched it slip quietly away into the underbrush. A memory that stirred my imagination and served as the launching point for the creation of this painting.

In this short video, I hoped to capture the way an experience can get a hold of you out 'in the wild' and then haunt you, until you are able come up with an image that, hopefully, embodies the magic of your feelings towards it. As always, this is not a tutorial video...but you will find shots of me working on the painting, and hopefully be given a satisfying look at the piece itself, as so many of you will, sadly, never be able to see it in person. Thank you always for your support! -- Julio
