Kolkata Rape Case: West Bengal junior doctors to end strike, continue protests for justice, safety

Junior doctors in West Bengal are set to end their "total cease work" on Friday, resuming duties while continuing protests demanding justice for a murdered colleague and better safety in hospitals. Following a governing body meeting, they plan to announce the strike’s suspension during a rally but will set a deadline for the state to meet their demands. If unmet, an "indefinite fast" will follow. The doctors had previously gone on a 42-day strike after the murder and renewed it on October 1 following another attack on medics. Their seniors urged them to suspend the strike to ease patient suffering.
