Hyperscale Datacenter Architecture

With the advent of “hyperscale providers, datacenter infrastructure has evolved significantly over the past decade and a half. Most notable are significant improvements in datacenter efficiency (PUE) and a convergence in terms of power distribution architectures. However, the next decade requires three major categories of innovation (1) Boosting construction productivity through modular design and offsite fabrication (2) Efficiency-neutral cooling solutions using significantly less water (3) Grid stability and optimization in the face of drastically increasing renewables penetration and (4) Securing operations technology (OT) with state of the art cyberdefense. We seek to present challenges and opportunities in these areas of focus.
