In this video I talk about my approach to retranslating the ‘Viking’ myths and legends of ancient Scandinavia, contained in the Icelandic sagas and the two books known as the Eddas, early medieval compilations of ancient poetry and stories.
Approaching these stories with a fresh eye, and without a religious or sceptical prejudice, I have discovered what I believe are stories of high technology beings in the ancient past, who set up kingdoms in the area of present-day Turkey, and who migrated in great flying craft to the north of the world.
In this video, amongst other things, I talk about a quite sensational re-translation I make in the book, referring to a passage talking about the great city of Asgard, (made famous by the Marvel films).
In Chapter 2 of the Ynglinga Saga, from Snorri Sturluson’s great History of the Norse Kings, Asgard is described as being a HÚS ( a House), and a HERBERGI ( a room).
The true meaning of this phrase is quite astounding, as you will learn in the video.
