Rebuilding an Onan B43G (Part 7) Cam Bearing and Cam Shaft Install

How I install the cam bearings and the cam shaft on this rebuild. There are specific tools for this job to get the bearings in perfectly straight and if you can find a set by all means use them. If the bearings are not perfect the cam shaft will not fit or will wear improperly.

This is a B43G 18 hp Onan that was rebuilt in October 2013. It was pulled from a 1985 John Deere 318. By no means am I a mechanic, this was only the 3rd rebuild I had ever done when completed. You might do things differently, this is how I rebuilt this engine and hopefully helps others. (Total cost of the rebuild was ~$400 using all OEM Onan parts vs $1,500 for a repower). Repowers and rebuilds should be on a case by case basis. This took us three weekends to complete.
