A woman shares her experience of being on retreat and how it has helped her to heal painful emotions. She relates how, with the help of other members on retreat, she was able to face painful emotions in a way she could not previously.

Rupert says that is the healing aspect of the non-dual teaching that is provided by the community of friends that gathers around it. It works below the radar of the rational mind — you just have to put yourself into that community of friends and participate in it. It works in a way that doesn't need explanation. The teaching communicates itself. And it's very much an integral part of our retreats.

Soon I won't need to show up at these retreats. I will just leave it to you. In fact, an old friend who's been coming to these retreats for many years said to me, I don't really consider you a teacher anymore. I consider you more like a host. I was very touched by that. That's the way it works.
