Recently, NHRC issued a notice to the state government regarding groundwater pollution in Bihar after taking Suo motu cognizance of a media report. Government has approved an amendment proposal related to MMDR Act for fixing the royalty rates for certain minerals. The approval will also ensure the auction of blocks of all these minerals. The Russian forces have seized Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Reactor during the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.

Coming to the Science and technology section, CHACE-2, a payload of the Chandrayaan-2 orbiter has detected the distribution of Argon-40 in the lunar exosphere. Apollo-17 and LADEE had also detected the presence of Argon-40 in the lunar exosphere.
