Holger Sigmund, a seasoned professional in the tourism industry with 23 years of experience, brings a wealth of knowledge as an entrepreneur, trainer, and expert in various disciplines. As the Green Destinations Representative in Switzerland, a GSTC trainer, and the founder of Servus Tourismuspartner OG and TOURISM IMPACT, Holger is committed to supporting the industry in the DACH region. In his presentation at the Green Destinations 2023 Conference, he shares insights on one of the most challenging and discussed topics regarding mobility: Are there new solutions for covering the so-called "last mile"? According to the German Federal Environment Agency, mobility accounts for 75% of the carbon footprint of global travel (40% flights, 32% cars, and 3% other mobility). Most guests in the Alpine countries travel to their destinations in their cars. The traffic problems caused by the massive individual traffic on site are correspondingly large. Holger shares his ideas on this with the Swiss start-up ClimPact and is eager to discuss them.
