The Challenger center is a STEM education organization which reaches 250,000 students annually at 40 locations worldwide with the highest order of hands-on, simulated learning with a combination of center missions, classroom adventures and virtual missions. The center was born forth by members of the space community, including family members of astronauts and others within the industry to capture what must be done in order to broaden the workforce pipeline between the aerospace community and wider society; a crucial structural support for this workforce vision is early science education based around space. Ideally the Challenger center wants to capture the imagination and priority of children prior to age 12 in order to get them on track for success in space.

The challenger center recognizes that space is not simply for exploration or running experiments. They are developing and delivering experiential STEM education programs that bring STEM subjects to life and inspire students to pursue STEM careers. The Challenger Center provides many levels of value within the space ecosystem but one of their most vital contributions to society remains to inspire and to engage students at a young age in science and math in order to give flight to the next generation of scientists and explorers. They seek to establish innovation and prosperity for not only space, but Earth.

The Challenger center also encourages science literate citizens to assist others who need the support, fostering a spirit of mentorship and community. Today's students are tomorrow's leaders and innovators. As a demonstration of value based results we are introduced to three alumni who are working within or toward the space industry: France Jackson of Intel Corporation, Taylor Young who is pursuing a degree in engineering and Tess Caswell of Blue Origin.
