- OLIVE OSTROVSKY (played by Bianca Di Cocco): A young newcomer to competitive spelling, Olive doesn't go anywhere without her dictionary by her side.

- DAN SCHWARTZ & CARL GRUBENIERRE (played by Shaquille Barksdale and Ethan Freedman, respectively): Logainne's fathers. They have set their hearts on their little girl winning the bee.
- MR. & MRS. OSTROVSKY (played by Chaundre Broomfield and Caitlin Caporale, respectively): Olive Ostrovsky's loving mother and negligent father.
- MARIGOLD CONEYBEAR, MR. & MRS. CONEYBEAR (played by Gina Benson, Ethan Freedman and Nina Day, respectively): Leaf's hippie family. They are not very confident of Leaf's abilities.

THE STORY

(Source: https://mtishows.com/the-25th-annual-...)

In the musical comedy, THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE, six young people in the throes of puberty, overseen by grown-ups who barely managed to escape childhood themselves, learn that winning isn't everything and that losing doesn't necessarily make you a loser.

An eclectic group of six mid-pubescents vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming "ding" of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves a champion! At least the losers get a juice box.

The show's Tony Award-winning creative team has created the unlikeliest of hit musicals about the unlikeliest of heroes: a quirky yet charming cast of outsiders for whom a spelling bee is the one place where they can stand out and fit in at the same time.
