North America F-100 Super Sabers zoom across screen in a series of montage shots (:11).
James Stewart; USAF brigadier General and movie star hosts "The Airman's World" (:30). This 1960's government documentary short introduces and examines the USAF Strategic Air Command and Control Organization. The program operated from 1946 to 1992 as an authority over US strategic military forces. USSSTRATCOM; based in Nebraska, is featured as the brain center of the operation though footage is also included of emergency locales including airborne command centers are depicted as well.  It traces the path of four ambassadors in F-100's travelling to the East Asian countries. Much of the footage covers Korea. Viewers get a glimpse of the USAF as well as the style and culture of Korea in the 1950’s. James Stewart (:35) discusses the current military strength of the US. Four F-100’s shoot out the Pacific (1:16). Aerial shots trace their path over Philippine cities (1:51). The planes push for Corregidor (2:16). Corregidor was a major site of the Pacific theater of WW2, home to the Battle of Corregidor fought in 1942. The crater of Mt. Fuji opens crusted by snow (2:33). Thunderbirds pass Taiwan (2:50) and the Formosa straight headed for Korea (3:05). Oxen plow over dirt (3:27), Korean farmers pluck crops (3:30). Pedestrians crowd the narrow streets of Jinju City (3:39). A farmer waters the field with a water wheel (3:44). Female Koreans bargain in the market place (3:48). Youth skid down a slide (3:58). Ewha Women's University in South Korea (4:03) appears. The film tours the country and various aspects of Korean industry. A livestock farmer nudges a herd through a shallow creek (4:06). Grandfather and granddaughter harvest rice (4:14). A stone mason plows forward (4:17). Terraced farms (4:20) and rural villages (4:23) dot the country. A woman spins the loom (4:30). Automobile plant workers polish sleek models (4:33). Roofers fabricate a new roof (4:45). Cyclists cross paths (5:10). Air show signs indicate nearby air fields (5:13). A mass of Koreans tip tilt their heads up for buzzing F-100's and a show of USAF military strength (5:22). The Thunderbird's cuts trails across the sky (5:34). Ground views cover pedestrians watching the show (6:00).  A lone Farmer pauses in the field (7:37). The air show continues for a number of frames (8:47). Youth watch (9:56). A farmer plugs his ears; as an F-94 shoots over (10:02). Planes touch down and the show concludes (10:22). A Korean police officer on a motorcycle pushes through the crowd (10:27). Ground technicians check the jets (10:32). Pilots of the air show shake Korean officials’ hands on the ground (10:37). A pilot signs a small card for a boy (10:59) as the crowds rush to meet the pilots and explore the planes. A young boy smiles; teeth sink into a sweet treat (11:07). New decals are slapped on (11:37). The Korean flag waves near the US flag (11:40). Korean women wait with lays for arrivals (12:16). Airmen receive banners and flower lays (12:45). Thunderbirds race down the runway (12:53). James Stewart re-appears to close the film (13:13). This film was produced by the USAF (13:36).
