Sky News host Rowan Dean claims there was not a single ounce of inventive or productive thinking from any of the “halfwits” at Treasurer Jim Chalmers’ roundtable.

Australia must not squander its “many great competitive advantages”, a business leader has warned as the nation looks beyond the three-day economic roundtable.

Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Chief Executive Andrew McKellar, who attended the roundtable, stressed business conditions in Australia were hurting attempts to bolster growth.

“I call it the Lazy Susan summit because all they did was spin the same tired old leftover, socialist ideas round and round the table ... and when everybody leaves the Australian economy is still hungry,” Mr Dean said.
