Let's begin our exploration with the "Who" behind the prestigious Cadillac Celestiq. Who were the brilliant minds and master craftsmen responsible for bringing this automotive marvel to life?

The idea for Cadillac's top-of-the-line sedan started with concept cars like the Sixteen (2003), Ciel (2011), Elmiraj (2013), and Escala (2016). Originally, the Escala was set to go into production, but Cadillac shifted focus to electric vehicles. As a result, the Escala was transformed into a showcase for Cadillac's electric future, leading to the creation of the Celestiq concept.

Cadillac shared some details about this new vehicle in March 2020 and January 2021 during an "EV Day" event and CES 2021. However, images of the Celestiq concept weren't available until July 22, 2022, when Kadilak unveiled the Celestiq Show Car.

Magalie Debellis, the designer behind the Celestiq, also designed the Lyriq. Both electric cars share features like the front grille and taillamps. The Celestiq's design draws inspiration from classic Cadillacs, such as the 1957 Eldorado Brougham and the 1930–40 Cadillac V-16, as well as the architecture of Eero Saarinen, famous for the GM Tech Center and the Gateway Arch.
The Celestiq made its public debut at Monterey Car Week in August 2022, including the prestigious Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. It won accolades for Best Concept and Best Use of Color, Graphics, or Materials at the EyesOn Design awards in September 2022.
