The Stingray, also known as the Commando Stingray, was a light tank developed by Cadillac Gage (later Textron Systems) in 1983, originally as a private venture for export. After the first prototype was completed in 1985, it was sent to various countries for evaluation, of which only Thailand ordered 106 tanks and became its sole user. Meanwhile, Cadillac Gage submitted the Stingray as their entry for the Armored Gun System (AGS) competition in 1992 to find a suitable replacement for the M551 Sheridan. However, due to budget concerns, the AGS programme as a whole was cancelled in 1997, thus ending the possibility of the Stingray entering service with the US Army.

Introduced in Update "Tusk Force", the Stingray is an archetypal light tank: fast, mobile, and armed with a sufficiently powerful gun. The Stingray features a 105 mm gun with powerful APFSDS shells, a two-plane stabiliser, and a laser rangefinder, allowing it to accurately hit targets at range. While the Stingray's armour is quite thin, the front is angled enough to resist autocannon rounds, though one should never rely on it. The main drawback of the Stingray is its poor reverse speed, which makes it difficult to get out of sticky situations.
