This is a replica of a fretted clavichord built in Frankfurt around 1670 by Israel Gellinger. The naturals are made of olive wood and the accidentals of ebony. This instrument was just built, and I am "breaking it in" for Jack. I transposed the Preludio from Bach's Violin Partita No. 3 from E major to G major to fit the range of the instrument. The clavichord is extremely responsive, and I find its warm, fruity tone to be peculiarly attractive.
