In this video I share all my knowledge about growing and harvesting kale leaves...
You could grow kale in springtime and fall time. it's a cool weather crop..
Kale will grow best from 73° all the way down in the '30s. it could handle and survive cooler weather..
If kale plant grew in summer, it will bolted of the production and the plant will be growing flowers to provide seeds..
use organic all-purpose fertilizer. also use blood meal for the leaves to increase the nitrogen which will give a big boost to kale or any leafy greens...

I am in Long Island, New York or temperatures between 50 to 70°. I am watering every 2 to 3 days slightly in the morning time...

I do add fertilizer every 3 weeks...

went to harvest Cale leaves Harvest anyway from 6 to 12 in and remove the outer leaves. do not remove the plant. once you remove the outer leaf, the smaller interlease will continue growing. giving you a faster Harvest within 5 to 6 days ...
