Shark Vertex Review

Описание к видео Shark Vertex Review

We review the Shark Vertex AZ2002. Tests are performed on carpet, hard floors, and hair. Comparisons are made to a host of other Shark upright vacuums. See the Vertex on Amazon: https://amzn.to/35NWUZ4 or at Shark: https://sharkclean.sjv.io/63amE

We show and describe what is in the box when you get your Shark Vertex - model AZ2002. We then walk through the three tools that are provided in detail. We also describe how the Vertex pet power tool is not a motorized tool and we run a test: the Vertex pet power tool (with its finned brushroll) vs another Shark power tool with a traditional bristled brushroll.

We were a little disappointed that the Vertex tools attach using compression fit – meaning they do not click into place securely. We often find that this approach leads to the tools being put on too loosely (and they may fall off when you are vacuuming) or too tightly (and they become difficult to take off). Also, we show that two tools can be stored on-board the vacuum. Unfortunately the pet power tool does not fit on the vacuum – but the dusting brush and crevice tool do.

We feel that the controls on the vertex are intuitive and easy to use. We walk through the controls on the handle including the floor settings. And we also show the powered lift-away release button, the dust canister release button, and the wand release button. Note: in hard floor mode the brushrolls on this vacuum will continue to spin. This helps with pickup on hard surfaces but it may be an issue for some folks who have very delicate flooring.

We highlight the advantages of Shark’s lift away feature and we show how it can be used with tools. We also compare powered lift-away to non-powered lift-away (the Vertex has powered lift away). We show this using the Shark Vertex and the Shark NV360.

We turn the vacuum over and check out the underside of the cleaner head. You can see the DuoClean Technology which consists of two brushrolls. A soft brushroll is on the front of the cleaner head and, in the case of the Vertex, a combination fin/bristle brushroll is in the middle of the cleaner head. We also show how the soft brushroll can be easily removed for cleaning.

We walk through filter maintenance. The unit has two pre-motor filters and one post motor filter and we show how to access, remove, and replace all of them. While we cannot test it, Shark has indicated that the Vertex has a sealed system which means that no unfiltered air leaks from the vacuum. All the air entering the machine gets filtered before being exhausted back into the room.

The dust canister on the Vertex is large enough that you will not find yourself having to empty it all the time. However it is rather narrow and it has a tendency to get hair and dust bunnies stuck in it. So you may find yourself having to reach into the dust canister and pull some debris out.

We performed a noise level test on the Shark Vertex, the Shark APEX, the Shark NV752, and the Shark ZU632. We found that the loudest vacuum was the Vertex, but not by much (almost the same as the Shark ZU632). We felt that it still wasn’t prohibitively loud but there certainly are quieter machines.

We weighed the Vertex and it came in at 16.7 lbs. It is a little on the heavy side (but not as heavy as the APEX). We expected this to have a significant impact on movement and manueverability and while it does to some degree, we were surprised that the vacuum moved as well as it did. Movement on carpet is not bad – but you can feel the vacuum weight and the spinning brushroll fight you little on the pull-back. Movement on hard flooring is easier.

We undertook a host of cleaning tests. Carpet, Hard Floor, Hair, Edge. In these tests the Vertex was compared to a number of other popular Shark uprights. We tried to use machines in the upper end of the Shark uprights – slightly more expensive (because the Vertex fits into this category).

We found that the Vertex is very good on carpet and hard floors. It also does not gather hair on the brushroll and it cleans tight up against edges. In short, it aced all the cleaning tests.
