Yuksom to Tshoka trek

April 1 2012 - After the night stay at Rob's place in Yuksom, we (myself, Rathin Da & Surajit Kar) left in the morning towards Sachen after registering at the local police station. We followed our guide on the trail through the Kanchenjunga National Park where we finished the necessary formalities. The feel of loose earth under our feet gradually turned hard and rocky as we climbed towards Sachen. The company of yaks, bulls & horses in the wild was exciting. Weather was good but little did we know what waited for us beyond Tshoka. With us we had our guide Lokendra, porter Yohan and our yak man. Rathin Da wore an athletic look while Surajit carried himself like an Army Jawan. :-) Having made a late start that morning and weary from the last night's travel , we put up a tent for the night in Sachen. Next day we were on our way to Tshoka and after hours of trekking we reached the Mountain Lodge. The aroma from kitchen made us hungry and the warmth of our beds in the room teased us...I slept like a log that night not knowing how difficult it would get thereafter...
